Welcome to the Highlands Pony Club, organized in 1970 by a group of local business people and parents of young riders in the New River Valley. Over the past 35 years, this club has consistently maintained approximately 12 members. Highlands Pony Clubbers have been very successful. There have been 2 Graduate Bs, 3 Graduate HAs and 5 Graduate As from this club. Many of these clubbers continue to teach riding and volunteer in Pony Club, and several are now National Examiners.

From 1970 to 1992, HPC was a member of the Virginia Region of the United States Pony Clubs, Inc. In 1992 the region divided and Highlands, along with 11 other clubs formed the Old Dominion Region. Currently, the region, with 16 clubs, stretches from the Chesapeake area, across Virginia, with one club in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Within this website, you will find information about the history of how our Pony Club began, including the Pony Club Pledge, the United States Pony Club Mission Statement and the United States Pony Club Guiding Beliefs. Parents, Pony Clubbers and Sponsors are encouraged to frequently read these items. Updates on Highlands Pony Club News, Camps and Events will also be available.
